UAE Citizens Can Travel to Lebanon Again Starting This Date

The UAE is officially lifting its travel ban to Lebanon for Emirati citizens beginning May 7, but there’s one non-negotiable requirement: you must register on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Twajudi platform before departure.

This move, announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), means UAE nationals can now visit Lebanon again—whether flying from the UAE or from another country—as long as they’ve filled out all the necessary details on Twajudi. Skipping this step could result in suspended travel procedures and even legal consequences, the ministry warned.

Why the registration matters:

Twajudi helps MoFA keep tabs on citizens abroad in case of emergencies. Travelers must input their Lebanese address, emergency contacts, purpose of visit, and update any changes during their stay. Upon returning to the UAE, citizens are also expected to report their arrival via the same platform.

The decision to lift the travel ban came following directives from UAE President Sheikh Mohamed, after Lebanese President Joseph Aoun’s recent working visit to the UAE.

Lebanon's Prime Minister Nawaf Salam praised the move, saying it reflected "the depth of brotherhood between the two countries."

A look back:

The UAE had banned travel to Lebanon in 2021, following political tensions that stemmed from controversial remarks by a former Lebanese minister about the Yemen conflict. In solidarity with Saudi Arabia, the UAE also recalled its diplomats. However, Lebanese nationals remained free to travel to the UAE.

Earlier this year, the UAE reopened its embassy in Beirut, marking a diplomatic reset. Officials say it signals a stronger commitment to renewed cooperation and ease of movement between the two nations.

So if you’re an Emirati itching for that Beirut summer trip—mark your calendar for May 7, but don’t forget to log in and register first. Adventure (legally) awaits.
