CID (Criminal Investigation Department) is a fictional Indian television crime series and is one of the longest-running shows in India as it successfully completes twenty years. It focuses on a group of detectives who investigate severe crimes such as murders and kidnappings through a set of professional procedures. The CID has its headquarters in Mumbai, India, and a forensic lab dedicated to the team. It is run by Dr. Salunkhe and his assistant, Dr. Tarika. They leave no stone unturned in helping the CID team uncover evidence to solve their battling crime cases. The CID team is led by the iconic ACP Pradyuman  (Shivaji Satam) or the Indian Sherlock Holmes. His charismatic personality and instincts are amazing to watch. At the same time, he sets out to solve a case. At 73, he possesses the vibrant energy that can scare the wits out of any criminal once he catches his hands around their neck and slaps them hard. Although ACP Pradyuman may seem strict and scary from the outside, he has a gentle heart and treats all his team members like his family. He loves playing pranks on his team by pretending to be angry with them and then laughing off the next second. He is the heart and soul of CID. 

FOUNDER OF CID SHOW 

The motivational police procedural television series was created by the Indian television producer BP Singh, from Dehradun in India. He made this show for Sony Entertainment Television India, and it first aired in 1998. It received some of the highest television ranking points, marking its progress for two decades. 

CID TEAM 

CID Team is one of the most loving and friendliest crime investigation teams that display humor, love and comedy apart from solving dangerous crimes. It consists of the famous trio ACP Pradyuman and two senior officers, Inspector Daya and Inspector Abhijeet, that mark the limelight of this show. Other team members include the innocent and naive officers Inspector Freddy and Inspector Pankaj, the brave and courageous Inspector Sachin, Dushyant and Kavin, and female detectives like Inspector Shreya and Inspector Purvi. Many sub-inspectors are involved in this show, like Officers Nikhil, Mayur, Vansh, Ishita and Karan. All of them comprise the theme of CID. 

THE ELEMENT OF LOVE IN CID 

CID is not only about investigating crimes and mysteries while running twenty-four hours on adventure. It is one of the unique crime shows that introduces the element of love through the stories of senior Inspector Daya, who likes his junior officer Shreya, and senior Inspector Abhijeet, who has a crush on the forensic doctor’s assistant, Dr. Tarika. It involves lots of humor and comedy as we see how these senior inspectors struggle to confess their love and how silly they become out of consciousness in front of their crushes. Although Inspectors Daya and Abhijeet support each other to be successful in their love lives, they lack the courage and confidence to propose as they fear rejection. Though the show involves many scenes where Inspector Abhijeet gently flirts with Dr. Tarika while Inspector Daya becomes possessive of Shreya if she is in any trouble or danger. It would not be wrong to say that CID could also be defined as a romantic crime series. 

FAITH IN LOYALTY 

CID is an excellent example of having deep faith in loyalty toward the nation while maintaining the balance between professional and personal boundaries. This scenario gets evident in the show when ACP Pradyuman keeps a heavy hand on his heart and shoots his only son Nakul for betraying the government and committing illegal activities. Moreover, whenever a team member’s family or relative in CID is considered involved in some crime, ACP Pradyuman always tells everyone to be loyal to the nation by treating a criminal first as a criminal and not allowing personal feelings to be overcome in the path of honesty . CID conveys a powerful moral to always be faithful to our duties and responsibilities without involving biases and making decisions in favor of the larger society. It covers all the emotions and evokes a sensation from within the audience.
