Bahrain and UAE Roll Out One-Stop Airport System

Airport runs between Bahrain and the UAE are about to get smoother.

Starting February 17, 2026, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates will launch the first phase of the new Single Travel Point system for air travel — meaning passengers clear procedures at one spot instead of stopping at multiple checkpoints.

What’s Changing at the Airport?

The new system lets travelers complete all travel steps at a single point before departure. No bouncing between counters. No extra inspection stops.

This rollout follows a decision made during the 42nd meeting of GCC Ministers of Interior in Kuwait, pushing for tighter, smarter travel systems across Gulf countries.

Who Can Use It?

For now, the system applies to citizens of Bahrain and the UAE flying between the two countries.

It’s available on:

  • Gulf Air flights from Bahrain International Airport

  • Etihad Airways flights from Zayed International Airport

Why It Matters

The goal? Faster processing, fewer queues, and a more seamless airport experience for travelers moving between the two countries.

If it works as planned, this could be the start of a smoother, region-wide travel system across the GCC.
