Dubai Announces Eid Al Adha Holidays for Private Schools

In a recent announcement made on Tuesday, May 12, Dubai confirmed the Eid Al Adha public holiday schedule for private schools across the emirate. This decision marks a significant occasion for students and teachers alike, granting them a much-needed break during a busy academic calendar.

According to the schedule, students will commence their official holiday on Monday, May 25, and will continue to enjoy the break until Friday, May 29. Regular classes are set to resume the following Monday, June 1. This provides learners with a nine-day respite, factoring in the weekends of May 23, 24, and May 30, 31.

This announcement aligns with the UAE’s Ministry of Education’s earlier revelation of mid-term break dates for the third semester, which confirmed that both students and staff will benefit from the Eid Al Adha holiday period spanning May 25 to 29.

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) underscored that the break comes at a strategically important time in the academic year. Positioned just before students enter the final assessment phase, this holiday offers an opportunity for relaxation and preparatory focus ahead of their exams.

Once students return to classrooms on June 1, the third semester will resume with mock exams scheduled to take place by mid-month, on June 15 and 16. The academic calendar remains packed, with Islamic New Year celebrations on June 17 providing another brief pause before students gear up for end-of-term exams from June 24 to July 3.

The ministry has also confirmed July 3 as the final day of school for students, marking the formal conclusion of the academic year. As students and schools eagerly anticipate the break, the holiday serves as both a cultural celebration and a moment of academic reprieve.

Dubai’s timely planning of the Eid Al Adha holiday highlights the emirate’s dedication to fostering balance in education, ensuring that students are not only academically prepared but also given moments to recharge during critical phases of their learning journey.
