H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Launches Dubai Quran Award

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has announced the launch of a new edition of the prestigious Dubai International Holy Quran Award.

The announcement was made via social media platform X, where Sheikh Mohammed declared that the award would once again seek out "the world's most beautiful Quranic voices" to honour them during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.

"By the grace and guidance of Allah, today we launch the new edition of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award," he wrote in his post.

A Legacy of Honouring Reciters

Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the spiritual significance of the Holy Quran, describing it as "light, guidance and mercy." He affirmed Dubai's longstanding commitment to honouring Quran memorizers, noting that this tradition has continued uninterrupted for 29 years.

"We have been celebrating Quran memorizers for 29 years, and, God willing, we will continue on this path and this journey. We ask Allah to accept our good deeds and yours," Sheikh Mohammed stated.

The Award's Cultural Significance

The Dubai International Holy Quran Award stands as one of the emirate's longest-running religious and cultural initiatives. It recognises distinguished Quran reciters and memorizers from across the globe while promoting the values and teachings contained within the Holy Quran.

Winners of the competition are traditionally honoured in elaborate ceremonies held throughout Ramadan, combining cultural celebration with spiritual recognition. The event brings together participants from numerous countries, creating an international gathering dedicated to Quranic excellence.

The award serves dual purposes: celebrating individual achievement among those who have committed the Quran to memory, and reinforcing the importance of Islamic scholarship and oral tradition in contemporary society.
