Mansour bin Zayed Launches ADAFSA Strategy

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, launched the strategic plan of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority 2022-2025.

H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the new strategy aims to stimulate the agricultural sector and food production, consolidate the sector's position as a major contributor to the economic diversification system, and increase its contribution to the gross domestic product of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in order to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and in implementation of the objectives of the Abu Dhabi government in building a diversified economy based on knowledge, enabling sustainable agricultural development, ensuring abundance and safety of food, and enhancing the leadership of the UAE in this field.

The new strategy is based on effective partnership with institutions working in the field of agriculture and food production. To achieve these goals, the strategy identified several initiatives to consolidate reliance on technology and artificial intelligence and build the sector's capabilities based on the principles of research and development, governance, and service excellence.

It is noteworthy that the contribution of the agricultural sector of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to the gross domestic product increased to AED 13.7 billion in 2020, as a result of changing agricultural methods and providing distinguished services to farmers, while the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority continues its path of achievements that have been widely appreciated by international, regional and local institutions over the past years.
