Sharjah Police Bust 3.5M Captagon Pills Hidden Underground

Sharjah Police have just dropped one of their biggest busts yet. In a massive anti-narcotics operation dubbed "Bottom of Darkness", officers uncovered over 3.5 million Captagon pills—worth a jaw-dropping AED 19 million—hidden beneath artificial flooring at a private villa.

According to Brigadier Majid Sultan Al Asam, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, the 585kg drug haul was carefully concealed under layers of interlocking floor tiles—revealing the gang’s sophisticated smuggling techniques.

A dramatic video released by the Sharjah Police shows sniffer dogs in action, alongside officers digging out the illicit stash from beneath the villa’s surface.

The sting was coordinated with Abu Dhabi Police and the Federal Anti-Narcotics Department at the Ministry of Interior and was part of a pre-emptive strike after an extended surveillance operation.

Brig. Al Asam also raised concerns over how drug traffickers are increasingly using social media platforms to target young people, warning the public to stay alert and report any shady activity.
