Sharjah Taxi Driver Arrested for Attempting to Molest Two Teenagers

The Sharjah Police have detained a taxi driver who attempted to assault two teenagers inside his vehicle. When the incident took place, the 13- and 15-year-old girls were on their own without their parents.

When the 13-year-old got back home, she informed her father what had happened.  He immediately called the police, who quickly arrested the driver in question.

The two youngsters were Arab, the police said, although they did not specify their nationalities. The cab driver was identified as Asian.

Prosecutors have been assigned to handle this case. Authorities warned parents to be aware of the possible risks associated with sending their children on their own travel.

Police advised guardians, parents, and other members of the public to watch out for children in unsafe situations and to report any incidents or unusual behavior.
