Al Shifa Hospital Attacked in Gaza

Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza, the largest medical center in the northern Gaza Strip, was attacked on Monday, Mar. 18.

Israel launched an operation at the hospital and air strikes damaged the area around the hospital.

According to the government media office in Gaza, 30,000 displaced and wounded people as well as medical staff are still trapped inside the hospital. 

A fire erupted at the gate of the hospital and the displaced women and children in the hospital suffered from suffocation during the attack.

Gaza's Health Ministry shared, "A number of martyrs and wounded have fallen so far," however the exact number is unknown because following the attack, communications were completely cut off, therefore there are not many updates about the situation on the ground. 

Tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians were taking shelter in that complex, however, the Israeli operation has endangered many lives and left many displaced people taking refuge at the hospital vulnerable.
