Dubai Launches Free Mental Health Hotline ‘Itma’en’ Amid Regional Tensions

Dubai has launched a free mental health hotline aimed at supporting residents and visitors as regional tensions continue to affect the wider Middle East.

The initiative, called “Itma’en” — meaning “rest assured”, was introduced by Dubai Health in collaboration with the Community Development Authority and the Dubai Health Authority.

Free and confidential support

The service offers confidential mental health support through a dedicated hotline (800506) and is available free of charge.

The hotline operates daily from 9am to midnight (12am) and provides assistance in both Arabic and English, making it accessible to a wide range of residents and visitors.

Officials say the initiative is designed to help individuals manage stress and anxiety during uncertain times, while encouraging people to seek professional support when needed.

Support during uncertain times

The hotline comes as life in the United Arab Emirates continues despite ongoing regional developments.

Residents are still commuting to work, tourists continue to arrive, and businesses remain open, with the city maintaining its role as a major regional hub.

Authorities say the new hotline ensures that people have accessible psychological support, helping them maintain mental well-being while navigating the challenges of the current environment.
