UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Introduces New Law

The Ruler of Abu Dhabi and President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has issued a new law which came into announcement on Wednesday.

The new law is regarding punitive and correctional establishments in Abu Dhabi and will start effectively starting January 1st, 2024.

According to the WAM agency, the new law will transfer management of punitive, correctional establishments and juvenile facilities in Abu Dhabi, from the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters to the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department,

The law aims to contribute to enhancing the rehabilitation and correctional ecosystem in the capital.
