Eid Al Adha 2025 Prayer Timings Across UAE Announced

UAE residents can look forward to a long weekend as Eid Al Adha 2025 brings a four-day public holiday. The break will run from Thursday, June 5 to Sunday, June 8, giving workers a much-needed breather in the summer.

The first day, June 5, marks Arafah Day, one of the holiest days in Islam. Eid Al Adha falls on Friday, June 6, making the holiday extra special this year as it aligns with the weekly Jumuah (Friday) prayers. Both the Eid and Jumuah prayers will be held separately, each with its own sermon, according to the UAE Fatwa Council.

Expected Eid Prayer Timings Across the Emirates

Eid prayers usually begin about 20 minutes after sunrise. Based on the Islamic calendar and calculations from the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, here are the estimated Eid prayer times for Friday, June 6:

  • Abu Dhabi – 5:50 AM

  • Dubai – 5:45 AM

  • Sharjah – 5:44 AM

  • Ajman – 5:44 AM

  • Umm Al Quwain – 5:43 AM

  • Ras Al Khaimah – 5:41 AM

  • Fujairah – 5:41 AM

Note: These timings may be updated closer to the date, once official announcements are made.

What Happens on Eid Morning?

Eid morning kicks off early. Families wake up before sunrise, dress in traditional clothes, and head to mosques or musallahs (open-air prayer spaces). The mood is festive, with people greeting each other, sharing smiles, and chanting the Eid takbir (praises to God).

After the short prayer and sermon, celebrations begin. A central ritual of Eid Al Adha is the sacrifice of livestock, honouring the story of Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience. The meat is distributed among family, friends, and those in need, highlighting the values of charity, gratitude, and togetherness.
