Emirates to Resume Flights to Baghdad and Beirut in February

The UAE-based airline Emirates will resume flights from Dubai to Beirut and Baghdad on Saturday, Feb. 1.

The airline had extended a long-standing suspension of the routes to these capital cities until Jan. 31 as a safety measure during ongoing regional tensions.

A two-month ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah is due to end on Sunday, Jan. 26, but there are hopes of maintaining peace with the election of Joseph Aoun as Lebanon's president.

The airline's service to Baghdad will include a daily flight which will leave Dubai at 8:05 a.m. on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday, arriving in Baghdad at 9:50 a.m. The return flight will leave Baghdad at 11:25 a.m. and land in Dubai at 2:35 p.m.

On Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the flight will depart from Dubai at 1:00 p.m., arriving in Baghdad at 2:25 p.m. The return flight will leave at 3:55 p.m. and touch down in Dubai at 7:10 p.m.
