Sharjah Announces 10-Day Eid Al Adha Break for Schools

The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) on Tuesday revealed the holiday schedule for private schools in the emirate during Eid Al Adha. According to the announcement, students will begin their holiday on Monday, May 25, and return to classes on Monday, June 1.

The 10-day break includes May 22-24 and May 29-31, which are observed as regular weekends in Sharjah. This extended holiday gives students a chance to relax and recharge ahead of their final exams.

Earlier in the day, Dubai also announced the Eid Al Adha break schedule for private schools. The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) stated that students in Dubai will begin their holiday on Monday, May 25, and resume classes on Monday, June 1. In Dubai, the holiday spans nine days, incorporating May 23-24 and May 30-31 as usual weekends.

These announcements follow the UAE Ministry of Education's recent declaration regarding the mid-term holiday schedule for the third semester. According to the ministry, the break for Eid Al Adha for students, administrative staff, and teaching staff will be from May 25 to May 29.

The SPEA noted that this holiday schedule has been approved as part of the school timetable for the remainder of the academic year. Positioned near the final assessment period, the Eid holiday is expected to give students a chance to relax before they dive into their exams.
