Dubai Draws Over 629,000 Visitors During Eid Al Adha Break

Dubai was buzzing this Eid Al Adha as more than 629,000 travellers arrived in the city between June 5 and June 8, according to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).

In just four days, Dubai International Airport handled a whopping 581,527 passengers, while the Hatta land border saw 46,863 entries. An additional 1,169 people crossed into the emirate via maritime routes.

Major General Talal Al Shanqeeti, Assistant Director General of the Airports Sector at GDRFA, attributed the smooth travel experience to the emirate’s tech-first approach.

“We have made it a priority to ensure a seamless travel experience through smart gates and artificial intelligence technologies,” he said. “The travel experience has become part of our commitment to enhancing quality of life.”

Thanks to AI systems and coordinated airport operations, the city was able to handle peak travel volume with minimal delays, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a top-tier global travel hub.

Officials say this kind of efficiency isn’t just seasonal—it reflects a broader, long-term vision.

The city’s integrated planning across aviation, maritime, and land borders positions Dubai to lead in global mobility, tourism innovation, and lifestyle benchmarks.

Whether you were flying in to shop, soak up the sun, or just eat your bodyweight in kunafa, one thing's clear: Dubai knows how to handle a holiday crowd—and then some.
